Closed Spray Dryer for Organic Solvents with Solvent Recovery & Low-Temperature Evaporation

Designed for organic solvent processing, this closed spray dryer uses recirculated nitrogen instead of ambient air as the drying medium, boasting a closed-loop system that recovers both products and solvents. It enables low-temperature evaporation—ethanol can vaporize at 30-40°C without reaching its boiling point if external air stays unsaturated.

description

Exclusively engineered for organic solvent applications, this closed spray dryer adopts recirculated nitrogen as the inert drying medium in place of standard ambient air. Featuring a purpose-built closed-loop system tailored to organic solvent properties, it supports the recovery of both finished products and solvents. Unlike conventional equipment, it enables low-temperature evaporation: ethanol can vaporize at 30-40°C without reaching its boiling point, provided external air does not reach saturation. This low-temperature performance forms the core of our closed-cycle spray dryer design.

features

1. Drying Tower: Constructed from 304 stainless steel, this core component integrates a tower body, explosion-proof lighting, gas distributor, temperature control equipment, pressure relief device, inlet/outlet pipelines, and an oxygen content measurement sensor, with a filter installed inside the inlet pipeline. Atomized slurry is heated by hot nitrogen, causing solvent volatilization and drying into powder that settles to the bottom outlet. Process gas is discharged for closed-circuit circulation.

2. Heating System: Comprising a nitrogen-electric heating setup with enclosed heating elements, this system directly heats the drying medium (nitrogen) within the pipeline and is paired with a pressure regulation control assembly. It offers temperature control accuracy within ±2°C, with a maximum heater temperature of 110 °C.

3. Condensing System: Made up of a refrigeration unit, condenser, refrigerant circulation pump, filter, heat exchanger, and connecting pipelines, this system processes “wet” gas (containing evaporated organic solvent vapor) discharged from the dust collector. The gas is cooled to remove moisture before returning to the closed-loop gas system; condensed organic solvent is automatically discharged into the solvent tank via bottom-level control, with a condensation temperature ≤12°C.

4. Feeding System: Including a batching tank, solvent tank, feeding peristaltic pump, feeding pipeline, and atomizer, this system operates by first transferring prepared slurry into the batching tank. After uniform stirring, the peristaltic pump conveys the slurry through the pipeline valve to the atomizer. Fitted with LABEKS’ specialized explosion-proof atomizer nozzle, this component comes with a 1-year lifespan guarantee.

5. Gas Recovery System: Gas exiting the drying tower’s bottom carries powder and organic solvent vapor. A filter device separates and recovers the powder, while the organic solvent vapor is directed to the condenser for recovery and reuse.

6. Gas Circulation System: Powered by a circulating fan, this closed-loop system moves the drying medium (nitrogen) through the condenser, electric heater, drying tower, cyclone separator or bag filter, before returning to the circulating fan for continuous operation.
